As you might know Bali is a small island that belongs to the Indonesian islands. It is known for its forested volcanic mountains, rice fields, sunsets, surf, and beaches. It is a warm tropical climate that is the perfect destination to escape, relax and unwind. Filled with not only beautiful people but also beautiful activities to keep you busy! For such a small Island I would personally say Bali is one of my favourite destinations to travel went I need a week off. This place can keep you busy for weeks on end! The number of hidden beaches, temples, forest, waterfalls and diving spots it sure can cater for any type of traveller. Then why not try out these suggestions
Bali is full of hidden treasurers and by treasurers, I mean hidden waterfalls! If staying over the west coast of Bali is it most likely you will visit the Tegenungan Waterfalls in Ubud. This is a popular spot for tourists as it is not located in the mountains but rather near Ubud the famously known place for Rice Fields. It is easily accessible without a long walk. This is a common spot for a driver to bring you as they are able to also show you temples, the rice fields and swings and waterfalls all in one day. The water flows heavy and is a popular spot for locals to cool off and unwind. As the waterfall is west facing the best time to visit is in the afternoons as it captures the true beauty with a sunset.
Other recommended Waterfalls if you are willing to make the journey are the Blahmantung Waterfall in Tabanan. This beautiful lush escape is appealing to all coffee lovers as coffee plantations and rice fields are everywhere for as far as the eye can see. This waterfall is a hidden gem and has a waterfall of over 50meters with a plunge pool at the bottom that you are able to swim in.
We all know that going on a holiday calls for a cocktail right? Well with the millions of swim-up pool bars and beaches we are going to recommend our favorite one for you. La Plancha Beach Bar & Restaurant! Located in between Kuta and Seminyak, La Plancha is an all-time favorite spot to kick back with a cocktail or two and watch the sunset. Laze around on colorful comfy bean bags while under bright umbrellas and order some tapas to munch on while you watch the sunset. With good food, drinks, vibes, and music this is a must go spot especially if you are planning on heading out afterward.
La Plancha: Jalan Mesari Beach, Seminyak, Kuta, Seminyak, Kuta, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80361, Indonesia
Ever wanted to go for a walk on the bottom of the sea floor? Well in Bali you can! I would only recommend this to people who haven’t gone scuba diving or are wanting to test the waters before they do. For people who do not have their dive ticket, Sea walking tours are a great way to get under the water and into the ocean to see what really goes on down there. This experience is perfect for people wanting to see, touch and feel coral, fish, and sea animals. Overall is it a safe and fun activity for people of all ages.
Get picked up from your hotel and head out to the rural areas of Bali in north Ubud to explore how the locals live. Jump on an all-terrain Quad bike and tour around the rice fields, local villages and head out to a secluded waterfall with underground caves. Get to experience the traditional ways of life as you pass villages and people working in the rice fields. Following on as you splash through rivers and tackle off-road adventures that lead to a waterfall that you are able to take a swim in. Come back to base and wash off before experiencing a traditional Balinese Meal of Mie Goreng or Nasi Goreng while overlooking the rice fields before being taken back to your hotel.
I would highly recommend going with Kuber Bali Adventures: https://kuber-bali-adventure.business.site/
The town of Ubud is known for traditions and crafts. It is also a popular spot for spas, yoga and wellness retreats. Ubud is surrounded by rice paddies and Hindu templates and is a must visit destination to add to the list while in Bali. It is the cultural hub and is just an hours drive away from the hustle and bustle of tourist areas such as Seminyak or Kuta. Kick back and enjoy breakfast in the Rice Paddy Fields, Jump into a birds nest and capture a snap or swing into the fields on a giant swing. Head to monkey forest and feed the monkeys bananas. But be warned to keep your valuables out of sight as they are quite cheeky, to say the least. Or if you want to slow it down then why not book into a wellness retreat and relax with meditation, yoga classes? Or if you are feeling some retail therapy head out shopping for art, crafts and to the markets.
Canggu is the destination for surfers and bars. Canggu is the perfect spot to hit the beach and is full of street art, beachfront bars and ready to surf waves. With lush vegetation, it is a popular spot for locals to live just outside of the busy neighboring towns. It is more of a laid back hipster vibe with nightlife and open bars that line the beachfront. The town is complete with wholesome cafes and lush green rice fields. If you are wanting to escape the crowded tourist areas and live more freely than Canggu is the spot for you. I would highly recommend Old Man’s Bar in the afternoon to set up shop to watch the sunset over Batu Bolong Beach.
Old Man’s Bar: Pantai Batu Bolong Street No.117X, Canggu, North Kuta, Badung Regency, Bali 80351, Indonesia
WARNING stay clear if on a diet because you will not be able to resist! Let your mouth water while you wipe up the dribble! Not only are they open until 1 am they serve contemporary Asian fusion food that you would just never think of creating at home. The food is designed to be shared and they do not have a tax on their bills. Winning! From cheeseburger spring rolls to mac and cheese dumplings Ling Lings will be sure to knock your socks off and is well worth a visit while in Seminyak.
Ling Ling’s: Jl. Petitenget No.43B, Kerobokan Kelod, Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung, Bali 80316, Indonesia
After a long and hard day of doing absolutely nothing, it is only fair that you reward yourself with a great big seafood fest? Am I right? So call up your local driver and head out to Jimbaran Beach to be serenaded by a live Balinese mariachi band while you sip on a beer and wait for your seafood platter to be served up. It is the perfect destination to come with the family as you enjoy fresh seafood and a sunset.
